Class Description

Our Solo Jazz and the Shim Sham class serves as a great introduction to solo dancing and solo movement. This class may serve as a prerequisite for level 2 Solo Jazz classes and/orLindy 3 if noted in the Lindy 3 description. In this class, you will learn: 

  • The Shim Sham! A Lindy Hop/Solo Jazz routine that is well known throughout the international swing dancing community. 
  • Solo Jazz vocabulary, including: 
    • Knee slaps
    • Fishtails
    • Applejacks
    • Suzy Qs
    • And more!

This class will be offered throughout the year on a rotating schedule. There are no prerequisites for this class. No partner is required.

COVID-19 Policy: For this in-person class, we are requiring masking and proof of up-to-date vaccination (including boosters) in accordance with all CDC guidelines. Acceptable masks include: KN95, KN94, N95, and surgical masks. Cloth masks are not sufficient; we will provide surgical masks at the door for those who need them.
